Microsoft Windows Vista Supported

Microsoft Windows Vista is currently supported for PLATO Learning Environment™ (PLE™), PLATO® Web Learning Network (PWLN), and Client-Hosted PLATO Web Learning Network (CHPWLN) customers using PLATO® curriculum, as well as PLATO® Orion and PLATO® eduTest Assessment customers.

Windows Vista support will be added for PLATO® Interactive Mathematics and PLATO® Pathways customers this fall. More information, including system requirements, will be added to the PLATO Support Center in the near future.

If you are running Windows Vista as well as Internet Explorer 7, please see 28112 - PLE: "Access is denied" when installing Authorware and using Windows Vista and IE7.

Keeping Track of Bug Fixes, Enhancements, and New Features

To keep track of bug reports, fixes, enhancements, and new features, visit the Product Update Center.

The Product Update Center is a searchable database that allows you to track and subscribe to product-specific update information. You can search this database for all products, a specific product, or by status levels such as Planning, Scheduled, or Released.

When you call PLATO Support, the analyst assisting you with your issue may direct you to the Product Update Center to point you to specific information that applies to your inquiry.

Access the Product Update Center at any time by going to the PLATO Support Center home page, http://support.plato.com > Resources > Product Update Center.

Please note that the Product Update Center is exclusive to active PLATO® Software Support Plan (SSP) subscribers and is password protected.

Troubleshooting

PWLN: Page Cannot Be Displayed, Cannot Find Server or DNS Error, Connection Not Established

Several DNS and server not found errors occur in both PLATO Web Learning Network and Client-Hosted PLATO Web Learning Network. Your web browser may need to have its security settings adjusted, your firewall or proxy software is not functioning or is not configured properly, or many other problems. You can address this by following the steps in 24224 - PWLN: Page Cannot Be Displayed, Cannot Find Server or DNS Error, Connection Not Established.

Adobe® Flash® Player Issues

A version of Adobe Flash Player is pre-installed with most popular Internet browsers. Sometimes, problems with a Flash Player that is already installed can prevent you from upgrading to the latest player. You can resolve almost all difficulties by taking the following steps described in 26118 - CW: Try this first: How to fix almost all Flash Player issues.

Helpful Tips

Daylight Savings Time Changes

Recently you may have noticed that the time that is displayed on your workstation or server is different from the actual time. A discrepancy in time on reports may be noticed as well. This may be the result of the daylight savings time change. For more information, refer to 28101 - ALLP: The time that is displayed on your workstation or server is different from the actual time.
