CHPWLN 5.0.3 Patch

If you have Client-Hosted PLATO® Web Learning Network version 5.0, 5.0.1, or 5.0.2, the CHPWLN 5.0.3 patch is now available at the PLATO® Support Center in the Client-Hosted PLATO® Web Learning Network Downloads. This patch corrects a number of courseware issues. It also eliminates errors in CHPWLN generated by Internet Explorer® and Adobe Shockwave Player 10.1.1 updates. This patch incorporates all features from the 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 patches. If you do not install this patch, you may receive errors, courseware failure, or black screens when attempting to run courseware in CHPWLN. Also, see the instructions.

Requirements Updates

The CHPWLN System Requirements document has been updated to remove Windows® 2000 as a supported Server OS for SQL Express installations. This is due to incompatibility issues between Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and SQL Express.

The PLATO® Pathways System Requirements document has been updated to include information about opportunistic file locking. Opportunistic file locking must be disabled in network environments using one or more workstations with Windows® 2000 Professional with SP1 or SP2 to reduce the potential for database corruption. When is the last time you updated the video drivers on your workstations?

Did you know that an out-of-date video driver is the number one cause for video display issues, including workstations hanging at a black screen? Your risk of video problems will become higher if your workstation has an out-of-date or incorrect video driver, your video driver is incompatible with your computer's DirectX version, or your display adapter does not support graphics hardware acceleration.
