Students are held to a number of standards each year. PLATO Test Packs with Prescriptions on PLE provide grade-level fixed benchmark assessments for grades 2-12 in reading and mathematics, and grades 7-12 in writing, 7-11 in science, and 7-12 in social studies. PLATO Test Packs then provide personalized, prescriptive assignments to PLATO® instructional content—targeting each student's areas of need.
Test offerings include cumulative, comparable test versions which automatically adjust instruction over time to track student progress against standards. Test Packs give teachers the flexibility to choose to have PLE automatically prescribe assignments or to make manual adjustments themselves before assigning lessons.
Consistent alignment between test items and PLATO instructional modules assures that learners follow individual learning paths that assign rigorous online instruction. And because students can access PLATO instructional content wherever they have Internet access, teaching can extend beyond the classroom.
State-specific Test Packs—available for 33 states—are based on key objectives within state content/curriculum standards. The National Test Packs are designed using NCTE and NCTM standards, as well as standards from the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation index of "A" states—and include reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, the Stanford 10, ITBS, and TerraNova.
